Creating a New Part from a Quote Sub-component

When building out a complex quote, you may realize a sub-component doesn't exist in your library yet. Instead of leaving the Quote module to create a part record, you can now create it directly from the Sub-component section.

How it works

  1. Open a Quote: Navigate to any RFQ Quote or Vendor Initiated Quote.

  2. Locate Sub-Components: Scroll down to the Sub-Components section.

  3. Select Create Part: Click the Create Part button.

  4. Enter Details: A pop-up will appear. Enter all the details needed for your part.

  5. Click Add: Once all the information is filled out, make sure to click the "Add" button at the bottom. Once added, the part is instantly added to your quote and stored in your Parts Library for future use.

Key Benefits

  • Maintain Momentum: No need to navigate away to the "Parts" tab and lose your place in a large quote.

  • Instant Linking: The newly created part is automatically linked as a sub-component to the parent item you are currently editing.

  • Data Integrity: Ensures that the sub-component structure is captured accurately at the moment of quoting.

Tip: Once the part is created here, it will also be available in your main Adding Customer Parts library for use in future quotes or orders.
